Bittersweet
I met this pretty Mother of two (at the time) through the playgroup I joined, and our relationship grew from there. We ended up going to a Labor Doula training together, and then I ended up being her Doula for their third sweet baby. A bond happens when you go through pregnancy, birth and having a newborn together. I feel so very privileged that I was able to be there when they brought their third child into the world. And she has been there for me through some of the toughest times we have had since we moved to Fort hood. Thinking about us moving in the near future and not getting to see these adorable faces very often anymore saddens me, but also makes me realize how lucky I was to have ALL of them on our journey at Fort Hood.

Thank you for all the experiences we have had together and for the love that you have shown. You are beautiful on the inside and out, and these sweet, children are proof!

Special!
This is a special one to me. This wonderful family I met over two years ago, when the oldest was turning two, since then both of our families have added another family member, and got to share that with each other. I am blessed to call them friends and to have shared our journey at Fort Hood with them. We have made memories together that I will always remember, and now I hope to have captured some memories for them! Love you guys!

Family
A loving, easy going Mom and Dad make for a fun, lively, cute little girl who's just about to be two!
It's not always easy photographing a two year but I think we managed to get some images the family will cherish of this fun time in their life.

Welcome Home
Typically I don’t photograph homecomings, just because the challenges they bring, and wanting to give my clients good quality images, I feel sometimes I can’t guarantee that. But I guess what I can guarantee is documenting a moment in Military families lives that is so triumphant, that maybe it won’t matter so much if the photograph isn’t technically perfect.
So when a friend called and said, “Would you mind coming to our Homecoming to get some pictures”, I couldn’t say no. Being that my husband and I never got the traditional Homecoming or any kind of pictures of it for that matter, I know I would have loved to have them for myself, so why would I deny her that opportunity? When your husband comes home from a tour overseas, it brings so many emotions, and such a grateful heart, and an immense amount of relief. “It’s over, we did it, we made it through, feeling “whole” again, having your other half, partner in life back home with you.” Watching the excitement in your children who have had to miss their Daddy, without truly understanding why exactly they were gone.
It’s something that needs to be documented, and recorded. And I am so happy I was able to capture such a touching moment of time in my friends life. The joy, and emotions, there are not enough words so I captured images.

Super powers and a Princess..
Today, I was lucky enough to start my morning with two awesome parents, two boys with hidden super powers, AND a beautiful little princess. Despite the record stretch of 100+ degree days, we were fortunate enough to beat the heat today and had gorgeous and somewhat breezy morning which let us enjoy our great adventure! While trying to capture a few fun memories before Daddy deploys again, I learned what kind of super powers these handsome little boys had (unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to the oldest's secret laboratory) and all the things a pretty princess can see, like flowers in my eyes! I had a great time with this fun, energetic, good looking family and I want to thank them for letting me spend this beautiful morning with them.

10 Months
It's amazing how much can happen in ten months. Our bodies can grow a fully developed new born baby from two tiny cells…and ten months later that newborn can turn into a personality filled, full cheeked, happy, sneaky, food loving little person. My youngest came into this world looking just perfect but with some major health issues. For months it was a struggle just to put weight on him. But now, ten months later you would never know he had any issues. He bear crawls just as fast as his brother walks. The boy loves food. He will eat anything, and I mean anything. A kolache with jalapenos? Yes. He has lots to say, our little chatterbox. He will move the contraption I have in front of the stairs so he can climb up and be a big kid with his siblings. He loves to blow raspberries on any bare skin he can find. He has a giggle and smile that could cure anything if we could bottle it up!

I love what ten months can do. I love our ten month old little guy.

Easy...
This family made my job easy...super easy. They are laid back, go with the heat (I mean flow), happy, easy going, and good looking family. Even though it was blazing hot, they were able to go with it and laugh and smile the whole time through. And, as Grandma's requested, they got some shots of Dad in his dress blues (women of all ages love a man in uniform!) and a few fun one's too!
